Text Box: About Us Text Box: INVEST IN YOUR CHILD’S FUTURE TODAY FOR TOMORROW Today, young people need the challenges and opportunities that Scouting and Guiding offer more than ever before. 1st Hillcrest Scouting and Guiding currently offer challenge and adventure to 104 young people from the upper Highway area.  We do some pretty amazing things in Scouting and Guiding, but for us, adventure is a way of life and not just an activity or expedition. Our Scouts and Guides grow in confidence by trying out new skills and stretching themselves.  Whether it’s a Scout leading his patrol for the first time, a Cub Scout waking up the morning after his first camp out, or a Guide who has just got over her fear of heights by completing her first abseil - that’s all adventure. Join today’s Scouts and Guides and be prepared for a world of adventure, fun and friendship. Scouts is made up of three branches, namely: Cubs:      boys & girls 7 to 10 years, Scouts:    boys & girls 11 to 17 years, Rovers:    young men and women 18 to 30 years.   Guides is divided into the following branches: Teddies:     girls aged 41/2  7 years, Brownies:  girls aged 7 to 10 years, Guides:       girls aged 10 to 14 years, Rangers:     girls aged 14 to 25 years.
